Wow, its been a while since I posted or painted. We moved about a month ago and the move and painting the walls instead of painting a canvas have been exhausting. Today, I enjoyed getting the easel, the oils, the linen canvas out and painting a Santa. Happy Holidays!
I had the sincere pleasure of working recently with still life artist (Philadelphia) Abbey Ryan. Abbey teaches art and has always been one of my favorites. She offers one on one mentoring classes on a limited basis. I think that I learned more from her than anyone I have worked with EVER! If you want to improve your artwork, I would highly recommend her as a mentor. Plus, she is fun as well! After taking her suggestions, this is my latest still life painted from life.
This was by far my largest painting ever. It is 20 x 24 which was a challenge for me as I really prefer smaller formats. But, I had this antique frame and wanted to put something in it so this is my simple still life in the frame. I hung it in my home as it may be the only one I ever do this large!!
