Teal Plate with Olives

The colors of teal and "shrimp" are some of my favorites. I found this plate at an outlet and just knew the colors were worth replicating. Olives were just part of dinner that night. This is another 8 x 8 (love square paintings) on masonite with acrylic paints.

Hillary, A Greyhound

I have always thought the stories of what happen to the beautiful, graceful greyhounds that don't serve the racing world any longer is a disgrace. I do not own a greyhound but I think these gentle creatures are so in need of rescue. I love the shy look on this little girl greyhound's sweet face. If anyone would like to purchase this painting, I will gladly donate the proceeds to the Greyhound Rescue. I admit that I like this painting more than any I have done. I like the loose strokes and the beautiful reds and greens together. It is on a six by six masonite with a border and is done with Old Holland acrylics. They are great acrylics and work equal to their great oils.

While I paint, my sweet dog often sits close. Guess the latest painting was a bit boring because she just fell asleep. Had to capture the moment.
