You Ain't Nothin But A Hound Dog - Email for purchase info

12 x 16 inch oil on Raymar Panel.  This was a sheer joy to paint.  I used my favorite green, sap green and a beautiful peach color.  The dog models were captured during the annual Coon Dog Festival in Saluda, NC back in July 2010.  I am a sucker for a dog painting and hope you guys enjoy this one too.

The Young Chef - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

This is a small 5 x 7 on Raymar panel.  This work is my favorite way to paint...very impressionist with lots of loose juicy strokes of vibrant oil paints.  This young chef was preparing lunch in one of my favorite restaurants in Hendersonville, NC.

This is for sale and will be on my Etsy site or just email me if interested.

$75.00 - Artist will pay shipping in U.S.

Laid Back

This original oil painting is done on linen and is a 5x7 inch portrait of a dog.  Not sure what kind this is, but he was just so relaxed with that laid back ear...had to paint him.  Met him on the way to Bald Head Island on vacation.  He just was so cute when the sun hit his flopped up ear.  If you are interested in this painting please just email me at propstanne@gmail.com.

Madame Tea Party - No longer available

There are likely those of you who know the famous dolls that are often collected.  I was no exception.  I bought these two collectable dolls for my daughter, Alison,  when she was very young and found these two in an old closet and decided to paint them.  They are small so the painting of their faces was a challenge.  The tea cup is an antique that I found in a store in Hendersonville, NC.

This painting is a 9 x 12 inch original oil on linen.

STYLE
The style is my usual impressionist strokes with palette knife painting.

This painting is for sale at my ETSY.

Wanna Hold The Puppy!

Original oil painting done from photograph taken by the artist at the Saluda, NC Coon Dog Festival.  The smallest of the girls was a little upset that the other girl would not let her hold the puppy.  Loved the interaction and drama.

The beagle was so cute and so sweet.  Gotta love beagles!

STYLE
The style of this piece is impressionist and utilizing a large amount of palette knife painting as well as loose brush strokes.  Piece is 12 x 16 inches on linen.  It is not for sale at this time as it is entered into a competition.  A smaller version is in the works and will be for sale at my Etsy (9 x 12 inch).

Tangerine Bouquet

I recently completed a self study course from Mark Carder on still life oil painting. I really enjoyed the concepts in realism which I don't often strive for. I enjoy loose impressionism both in my art and in the art of others. But, the Carder method does provide great mixing and drawing technqiues. Here is my painting using this method in oil.

Happy Holidays

This was an experiment that seemed to work. I took simple gatorboard and used pumice mixed with gesso and make a ground with swirls...fun! it was a bit like finger painting. I let it dry and then sketched the ornaments and painted with pastels. The rough background really make it interesting. So, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
