Race No More - Art Show Entry
Juried Art Shows are always fun but a bit stressful as you can always be denied entry. This is my entry into a show that is dealing with cultural issues. As many of you know, greyhounds that race are not always treated well in that culture. Once their racing days are over, they are thrown away with little regard. The need to adopt these gentle creatures is great. They only want love. These two will race no more (hence the name) and are now pets who are loved. We will see whether it is chosen or not. Either way, it makes a statement here.

Your expressive brushstrokes and great lighting are wonderful, Anne. I like the cropped composition.
ReplyDeleteI have another artist friend who champions the cause to save these greyhounds - I will have to make sure she sees this! What a wonderful painting you have here, Anne.
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire. I am a big time dog lover. I have two rescues who are the light of my life. Thank you for your comments all.
ReplyDeleteI love this Anne Marie. I am always so happy to see these dogs adopted into loving homes. You did a lovely, sensitive job on this.
